The Moons of Aurelia

Daphne Janes has been a Defender for most of her life, representing the accused population of Portmere. With only three years left on her indenture, Daphne can’t wait to find another purpose in the walled city. Especially since it means she won’t have to face her arrogant but handsome opponent in the courtroom anymore.

Warren Harrington is a star Crown Prosecutor and the son of a prestigious Councilman, forever living in the shadow of his dead older brother. So when his father approaches him with an obligation to join the Council and oversee the law of the city, Warren has no choice but to ignore his conscience and follow along—even if that means saying goodbye to the cute but anxious Defender he’s challenged in court.

But when magic suddenly reemerges from a centuries-old dormancy, Daphne and Warren find themselves working to uncover the root cause and to protect the people of Portmere. To do so, their own loyalties and beliefs will be put to the test as they discover there’s more to the city than meets the eye—and magic might be a lot closer than they think.
